What people are saying about Reykjavik

Better one of the bus tour options for those staying in Reykjavik

The guides was the highlight of this tour. Anna was a genuinely nice woman and kept us entertained with her stories on the way to Thingvellir Park and back. Martha was very helpful with the camera settings, she is experienced on shooting aurora borealis and she is the one who made our photos possible :) The cafe was open and we were able to buy coffee, wine and snacks and use the toilets during the evening. Other than that, it’s a big bus tour and we were there with 10+ other buses therefore there’s nothing exceptional about it. The scenery was quite ordinary where we stopped compared to the authentic in fact amazing photos online. Whilst this combination does not give you the dream setting to watch this phenoma - I understand if you’d choose to spoil yourself and stay at a remote, authentic hotel somewhere outside Reykjavik - because we were staying in the city and there’s no guarantee you’ll see the lights, we went ahead with this tour and had a memorable experience. Thx!

The Lights were magical the journey to get there - stressful!

The last day of the holiday and the forecast was 6, we HAD to go! So we booked tickets for half 9 and went on the tour, the tour was PACKED and we went straight to the cafe from the Golden Cirlce tour, along with all the other 20 coaches, 200 people (no joke). The lights took their time (3 hours) and whilst waiting I was massively frustrated because In my head we were meant to be chasing the lights, not sitting waiting along with everyone! The sky clouded over and I thought we’d missed the chance... WHEN at 11pm they eventually showed, we forgot our frustrations and watched the magic for an hour - unforgettable expereince, nature in its purest form.

I am struck by such an awsome experience.

Thank you is a small word to appreciate what your staff has done for me. Reyjakvic excursion Northern lights tour - driver and guide both- please I want to out this on their record - blessings from the bottom of my heart, no money can be paid what humanity they have shown that day and I am indebted for my experience to them. I am already back in my country and they know who I am. If they wouldn’t have allowed me I would have been deprived of this opportunity/ experience -once in my lifetime. God bless them.

Good trip Northern Lights hunting! It depends on luck to see them!

They make the chances as high as possible that you’ll see the northern lights! They’re a natural phenomenon, so it’s down to luck how well you will see them. Just accept that’s part of the experience! Definitely read up how to best photograph them if you’d like to do that.

it was nice seeing the lights with the camera

i enjoyed the lights. however our tour guide was more worried about taking her pictures with her own camera than helping anyone who was trying to capture it for the first time
