What people are saying about Reykjavik

Did not see any lights but it was still fun

Unfortunately we weren't able to see any northern lights that day but our bus tour was able to turn our trip amazing anyway. At the end we had hot chocolate and national sweets offered by the guide.

Exciting, fascinating, beautiful and amazing!

Our tour operator, Tiddy, was incredible. He narrated the trip with so much interesting and entertaining information. I learned so much! We were foiled by weather in the Jokulsarlon area our planned second day, so he rearranged our schedule, found us another ice cave to visit (and we even got to climb a glacier!) And brought us to all sorts of bonus places to see along the way. He was a complete professional and a very calm, friendly, funny person. ...The itinerary for the trip is just breathtaking and stunning. The black sand beach of Reynisfjara is one of the most astonishingly beautiful I've ever seen in my entire life. Also the tiny village of Hof where we spent the night is charming and at the foot of this striking mountain. ....GO ON THIS TOUR! So good.

The Lights were magnificent and our guide was superb.

Our second attempt to see the Lights was successful. So glad we persisted. Our guide was attentive, helped folks with photo taking (we got lots of great photos), and kept us laughing with his jokes.

guide knew where to take us to see aura dance

I know the weather helped but we had a great experience going to spots the driver knew where there were not 100 other tours and we were lucky- we saw the family by band and after some time activity picked up and there was a dance green and red through the camera lense

Great tour all around! Don't drive yourself when you can do this.

The staff at NiceTravel was helpful and organized, and made sure we got off to a great start. The small tour bus was much nicer than a big coach. It was comfortable, let us go places we couldn’t in a coach, and let us to spend more time at the sites. Robert, our tour guide, was great. He made sure we got the most out of each stop, and personalized the tour for each group. The stops were long enough so we never felt rushed, and we had plenty of time to ourselves to explore. Booking a room with private bath, we were the only couple taken to the Hotel Anna, which was a great experience by itself, with a quaint Icelandic feel, and attentive staff. The rest of the group at the guesthouse came back with some great northern lights pictures. The trip from Reykjavik to Jokulsarlon is very long, and if you want to see great waterfalls along the way, stop at a black sand beach, then see glaciers, the Diamond Beach, glacier lagoon, and take a monster truck ride to an ice cave, this is your tour.
