Full description
Drive through a variety of old fishing villages, see all the amazing lava fields and breath the fresh air straight from North Atlantic Ocean. This is Iceland´s nature at its best. Be picked up from the airport and spend your day on a Reykjanes Peninsula journey. Head to your first location listening to your guide tell stories of elves and show you where the trolls live in Iceland. Enjoy the stunning lava on one side and the ocean on the other. Your first stop is a small fishing village, home to two lighthouses. One of the lighthouses were built during World War II. The two lighthouses are on top of the Reykjanes Peninsula and have an incredible view all around them. There you can see an old wooden boat on dry land with a little dock around it.

Next, you will visit Reykjanes oldest fishing village. It is almost abandoned and has this beautiful old black church there. Learn why churches are black. It also has the ruins of the houses of Iceland's first settlers, 1,300-year-old ruins. Next to it is an anchor from an old American ship that ran aground off the village about 130 years ago. Continue your drive from the North American part of Iceland down to the European part and visit the bridge between two continents. There you have the opportunity to walk between America and Europe. The landscape there is really heavy and dark. It is like being on the moon or just another planet.

A short drive down Europe you will visit an old ghost named Gunna. She has a colorful hot spring named after her Gunnuhver. Gunna was an old woman that used to live there. Sometimes when you are enjoying this beautiful hot spring area, you suddenly feel cold coming down your neck. Next to the old ghost is Reykjanesviti or Reykjanes lighthouse. Reykjanes lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse in Iceland. It is located on top of a hill. Standing next to the lighthouse you get the most stunning view over the Reykjanes Peninsula and the cliffs next to it. You get the opportunity to walk up to the cliffs and marvel at the ocean and the islands around. The island out there has one if the biggest North Gannet colony in the world. Next stop is an ocean-made seawater tub. It is located in the cliffs by the ocean. Swimming would be the highlight of your Iceland trip. But that is only for the most extremist because it has cold water. It is absolutely amazing to stand there and see the waves break at the cliffs. Your last stop before heading back to the airport is the walking path next to Blue Lagoon. There you are surrounded by incredible lava fields in a surreal environment.
