What people are saying about Reykholt, Southern Region
This trip covered wonderful sights and our guide prepared us for each one. She always let us out at the top of the hill & picked us up at the bottom with enough time to explore, even if we were slow movers! Each sight was so unique and interesting from the waterfalls, to the geisers, to the crater, and even the little dairy farm. She helped us understand the Icelandic geo thermal supply and the volcanoes. She talked a lot, but it was all informative and we really enjoyed it!
Our guide,Fannar ,was really, really great. We got the back seats in the van and we are tallish. We couldn't see out any windows and were quite uncomfortable. The tour stops were super great but the seating was not. We appreciate being picked up though. I was very disappointed to not be able to see your stunning country on the drive around. Again I must stress that Fanner was great.
Our guide Boyi made this tour extra special. We enjoyed the wonderful sights - the geysers, the waterfall, the place where the tectonic plates divide. And Boyi added so much with his enthusiasm for Icelandic geology and culture and stories about the places. I feel that I really got to know Iceland on this trip,
We were picked up from our designated stop on time, throughout the drive to the national park the guide pointed out places of interest, facts and history of the area. We had enough time at all the sites to explore as we wished, he was very flexible and a great guide, the tour fulfilled our expectations!
Visited Thingvellir (drove through park with stops at waterfall, lookout) Geysir (excellent gift shop), Gullfoss, and Efstidalur ice cream, Laugarvatn Fontana beach (boiling sand), and tomato farm lunch. Great day! Got back to Reykjavik before 5pm. Great tour guide!
