It came to me in the middle of the night, it’s called an inkwell !! Back to the tour, I booked two tours on the same day & they arranged the same guide ( Raimund ) for both which was very handy, albeit worrisome if I didn’t like guide.. however Raimund had a solid grasp of Russian history, informatively explaining the timelines in interesting ways - you definitely can’t remember it all ! In addition, friendly & genuinely interested in your life & country. The tour locations speak for themselves, but having Raimund to navigate the Metro when your time poor was an excellent choice!
My guide, a charming Moscovite, was very well versed in the Kremlins history and made the visit into a fascinating afternoon. Though the tour was meant to be 4 hours it was nearer to three which was fine for me as we had covered everything within that time frame. I actually ended up in a one on one situation as no one else had booked for a tour in English the day I visited on 15th July. The Kremlin is well worth a visit though I had to come back the next day to visit the Armoury as it was not included in the somewhat expensive tour that I enrolled for.
Well worth the money!! Brilliant! Ksenia is a wonderful person. Her English was excellent and was extremely knowledgeable on Russian history - could answer all of my questions with such delight and enthusiasm. Great organization!! And a very interesting tour! She is a very informed guide who provided great background to life in Russia over time. She definitely went above and beyond to make the tour such a wonderful experience. I would say this tour is definitely in my top 5 most favourite tours I’ve done so far – and I`ve travel a lot :-)
Zhenya was very good at explaining us the main facts about buildings in city center (Kremlin, St. Basil Cathedral, Alexander park..). We appreciated taking us to GUM supermarket to ice cream and to local Russian restoraunt Stolovaya, where we could relax a bit. We liked the park built on the place of hotel Moscow and the insights Zhenya gave us and her punctuality (tour lasted 2,5 hours not less, despite the fact that we were only two visitors on tour). It was a quick glance of center that I would gladly recommend to anybody.
Margareta was great to talk to. She knew a lot about the history of the Red Square and Kremlin. I would mark it normally as a five, but I believe that she should have known that due to a public event the main entrances to Kremlin were closed and we had to send sone time finding an entrance.
