Full description
Experience everyday life on Lake Titicaca and meet the locals to learn more about their traditions, customs and traditional dances. See the remarkable floating islands of Uros, and spend the night in rustic accommodation on the island of Amantani.

Day 1: Puno - Uros Islands
Depart Puno in the morning and journey by motor boat to the floating islands of Uros. Created from the buoyant totora reeds that grow in the shallows, the islands provide a glimpse into the everyday lives of the people of Lake Titicaca and a look back at the history of Peru. The Uros began their floating existence centuries ago as they fled the Incas and Collas. Interact with the community and learn more about the extraordinary reed and its multiple uses, including for fishing and constructing houses. Next, go to the island of Amantani for lunch, and then take a walking tour to the temples at the peaks of Pachatata and Pachamama mountains. Return to the family house in Amantani, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night in their rustic accommodation.

Day 2: Amantani - Taquile - Puno
After breakfast in Amantani, continue by boat to Taquile Island, where the locals will put on entertaining demonstrations of their traditional dances. After lunch in Taquile, return to Puno for the end of the tour services.
