Full description
Get picked up from your hotel in Puerto Natales and begin your scenic tour to Torres del Paine. The first stop is the Mylodon Cave, a remarkable cavern located 25 km from Puerto Natales. A half-hour walk takes you into the cave, which has been made famous by the discovery of seemingly fresh skin and bones of a prehistoric giant sloth, known as the Amylodon.

Stop in a cafe in Cerro Castillo and then continue to Torres del Paine, along the way passing several ranches and then moving into the deciduous forest. On the drive, look out for regional fauna — many species of birds and maybe even a guanaco, a wild camelid related to the llama.

Torres del Paine is famous for its granite towers, after which the park is named. These gigantic spires were carved by glacier ice. Upon entering the park, you will come to a series of intensely-colored lakes and ice-covered mountains. After a tasty lunch, continue to Lago Grey and hike to the beach to see the Grey Glacier.

The return to Puerto Natales may be via the same route, or on an alternative route that passes by the picturesque lakes of Toro, Porteño, and Sofía. Return to your hotel in Puerto Natales.
