Experience

Highlights
  • Get a unique and authentic experience by being part of the Patagonian Estancia
  • Take part in a great variety of adventures like horseback riding, four-wheel off-road drive, bird watching, and trekking around the peninsula
  • Learn all about the Magellan sheepdog
Full description
Begin your tour with a boat ride through Ultima Esperanza Fjord where you will learn about the Ultima Esperanza province, its history, and its geography. Upon arrival to the Estancia, select a two-hour activity, choosing from either trekking, horseback riding or a 4x4 drive exploring the property.

Return to the main estancia house after completing your activity for a traditional Patagonian lamb barbeque known as a "Asado al palo". After more than three hours slow roasting over coals, this tasty dish is served with a fine Chilean wine and homemade sauces. After lunch, the experience continues with a focus on the Patagonian ranching culture.

Start with one of the most essential tools for a gaucho, his dog. Learn about the history of the sheep dogs and see a demonstration of how they work. Then, take a quick walk to the shearing shed which will lead you to your final activities, the shearing of a sheep and a tour of the ranches’ facilities. The visit ends with a boat ride back to Puerto Natales.
