What people are saying about Puerto Natales

The trip to Sierra Baguales was excellent, the whole crew was really super nice and took their time in explaining the history and geology of the place, especially regarding the fossils that are there in abundance, and some are old more than 60 million years, which is fascinating. Meanwhile, we saw a few significant birds, including the Condor, and the Black Swan, and also plants that are indigenous to the area, like the Yareta plant or the Calafate plant. We also saw some Guanacos, some were alive, and some were in skelleton form because the pumas ate them, so I got to see the place that is locally called the "Guanacos cemetary". I am so glad I did this tour, because the scenery is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful, and it's really worth every penny since we hiked almost half a day, and enjoyed the scenery and nature along the way. The time passed so quickly because the guides were really funny and positive and we had such a laugh. All in all,I recommend it to be an absolute must.

We had a clear day so we saw a lot of beautiful views. Just be prepared to spend the entire day on a bus. The road is VERY bumpy at times and we were very happy to get off when the trip was over. Also, the lunch provided is a meat sandwich and meat empanada with some sweets and a water. There were multiple vegetarians pretty disappointed so make sure you reach out and contact the company directly, not your booking agency, about any food requirements before the trip. The guides on the bus spoke very little English, but once we passed the border into Chile our park guide was very fluent in both English and Spanish. Also make sure to bring enough local currency to pay the park entrance fee. It is about 5,000 Argentinian pasos for two people or 25,000 Chilean pasos per person. In the end we are happy we went.

I can recommrnd the tour which totally makes up for the lomg journey. After five hours of drivinh, we reached the border to chile, where we could also exchange chilenian pesos which is required for the national park entrance fee (11'000 pesos per person, around 16 dollars) afterwards we stopped at 4 viewpoints to enjoy the amazing landscape and take pictures! The guide was very encouraged to tell us lots about the historical, the geographical and the botanical aspects. At 4pm we then made our way back to el calafate and reached it just after 10pm. The only thing that could be improved is leaving on time (we had to wait 30minutes for the driver who showed up later than announced) so that pne cluld return earlier.

The tour is GREAT perfect organization, they give you a lunch box full for the whole day, the guide named Nicolas (Patagonia Dreams) knows a lot of geology so he explain everything very good and he and the driver have the perfect energy and attitude, you have to do the walk even if the weather is the worst, trust me you won’t regret, recommendation have $40 with you to pay the entrance to the park and don’t forget the passport

Mathias our Guide is a very nice and friendly person. He carried about all of us and wait when we do not going so fast as him. He answered every question we ask. His english is very well to. The tour was hard for everyone with no condition and goes defiantly on your knees. So use the sticks they give you on the start.
