Prague: Communist Walking Tour with Ex-Homeless Guide
- Learn about the personal story of Aleš as a homeless person during the communist regime
- Discover the place where the Secret Police used to operate their practices
- Explore Lesser Town, and get to know what was happening in this area throughout the communist era
Your guide will show you the Old Town area and the spaces where the former Secret Police (State Police - StB) used to operate, whilst talking about their costumes and typical behavior. Furthermore, you will get the chance to explore the area where most of the anti-communists used to gather. After having some serious conversation about these dark times, there will be a break at a cafe in the nearby Ujezd.
Following this, the tour will continue to the Lesser Town area where it will pass through the Memorial to the Victims of Communism, Petrin park, the backside of the American Embassy, and the Church of Our Lady Victorious and of the Prague Infant Jesus. Whilst visiting these areas, your guide will be talking about these landmarks and how the Secret Police operated in this area. Finally, your guide will close the journey in the St. Nicholas Church, where you will be thanked for participating in this experience, and will hear the conclusion of your guide's story.
