We hoped to see some dolphins and be lucky to swim with them, but you never know if you’ll see them or not. We did see them and had the chance to go into the water to see them up close. Tip: learn to swim with a snorkel mask. If you don’t know how to do it, the first time might feel a little overwhelming. The company, in this case Futurismo, provides you with a wet suit and a snorkel mask, so you don’t have to bring your own (or purchase it). I saw many dolphins passing me by while in the water! Some were very close, only a few meters away! They don’t come up to “play” with you but they do like the attention. Such an experience to see wild dolphins up close!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our guide was proficient in many languages. Genuine care of animal welfare and amazing conservation practise. Inspiring to be as green and eco as possible. Up to date blog. Slow organisation of cancelled times and rebooked tickets by email which made make alternative plans for our day difficult. Be prepared that they cannot control the weather and this is in your best interest for your safety however disappointed you are.
Everything was organized perfect. As I was a cruise ship passenger and didn't know, if I would have been in time back, they switched me to another time. Great company, highly recommended (although there was no whale that day - but of course, that's nature). We saw many Dolphins around the catamaran.
We really enjoyed our trip! The crew of biologists made the trip both fun and informative. During the trip, we were lucky enough to see both dolphins and sperm whales; two pods of dolphins and two pods of sperm whales. This was truly the highlight of our holiday in the Azores
Rough seas didn't come in the way of a great day whale watching. Some didn't have the stomach for it but that didn't stop the day with plenty of whales to be seen and well hosted by the guides.
