Our tour guide was fantastic, coming right up to our airbnb to pick us up, even though we were on the outskirts of town - nowhere near the city centre. He was patient, informative and very friendly- it was wonderful to have such a relaxed and culturally-rich experience. We visited Mostar, saw the famous bridge made from traditional Bosnian methods, learnt about the history of the areas we drove through, learnt about the complex origins of the Bosnian war, tasted traditional Punjena paprika and saw the devastating after-effects of the conflict and exodus out of Bosnia. We were able to visit the old town and wind our way through the amazing city, seeing the traditional divers of Stari Most off the bridge of 24 metres and were even taken to the city museum to watch a short film on Mostar during the war. Would definitely do this tour again, and big thank you to our guide for such a great day.
We had a terrific guide /driver who had a great sense of humour. He gave lots of information along our route and answered questions we put to him. Those he didn't know he sourced for us. The itinerary was good but would have been even better if we didn't stop at Medugorje which was a very ordinary church and a street lined with Catholic paraphernalia. As we're not Catholic it was of no interest. We all had an icecream! The time would have been better spent extending our time in Pocitelj which was wonderful. One thought would be to inform clients that suitable footwear that is not slippery is recommended. I had walking shoes but they did slip easily on the shiny stones. Mostar itself was wonderful and the local guide was interesting. A great day and terrific tour with Mario. He has great interpersonal skills.
We loved our trip to Mostar, the fact of having a small group was appreciated. The knowledge of Mario was great, he knew his way around and interesting facts. The first stop in the little fort was nice, but for the second stop, at the church, it was too long, and would even cut it out, eventhough I practice my religion, we thought it was too much of a detour, and we would prefer having more time in Mostar which is the objective of the trip....we would of liked 1or 2 more hours in the City. The guide that gave us the tour in the town of Mostar was great, and the movie that accompanies it is nice to see. I hope this will help you improve your futur trips.
I liked the whole trip (minus the shrine of Medjugorje, unless you're Catholic, believer practitioner), very correct guide in all explanations and ready to help. Specified travel times were met, but especially that of the pick up in the morning, was very punctual, the bus driver (Mr. Domo) very good driving, in those bad roads. Overall I had a good travel and I liked a lot.
Without doubt the tour content was excellent however with the guide having to do commentary in both Spanish and English it made for a frustrating exercise. Probably my fault for not realising dual language tour when booking. Also bus too cramped. Most passengers including myself couldn't fit legs comfortably into seating space.
