The trip was very beautiful and interesting. We were picked up at our hotel in the morning and went to Plovdiv. During the car ride we already learnt a lot about Bulgarian culture and Sofia, In Plovdid we saw the amazing old town and after a tour we had some free time in Plovdiv. Our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgable. He took our interests in consideration at all times. Once we were interested in certain things we could spend more time there. We had such an amazing day and definitely recommend this tour.
The group tour was amazing . The group was small ( 6 people) . Our guide was attentive and knowledgeable and was fluent in English . We reached Plovdiv before the anticipated time and spent more time in the city. We also saw the ethnographic museam in Plovdiv which was very interesting. Got to learn about Bulgarian customs ,people and their lifestyles. The roman theatre and Assen's fortress are quite expensive. The drive from Sofia to Plovdiv is scenic and you can see a lot of snow clad mountains and green valleys
We were only two people with our guide Kamen. So it was kind of a private tour. He picked us up at our hotel with his car and took good care of us. He answered all our questions about Plovdiv and surroundings and Bulgaria in general. We had an excellent day in nature with a little bit of hiking to the fortress of Assen and to wonderful stone bridges. We also went to the beautiful monastery Batschkowo. Kamen is a friendly knowledgeable guide. This tour is highly recommendable when you are in Plovdiv.
Great trip, good service and attention by the guides (good level of detail shared of the history etc). Relaxed tour, not too formal which makes it very pleasant. Only tip is to update the touring bus: in the back you can hardly see any sights through the window pane as there is a sticker in front of the glass, and the small curtains of the glass cover up partial view too. Bus is also in an old state so could use renewal to be at the same level as professionalism as the guides+overall tour are.
Our guide, Michael, and our driver were great company. They were very friendly and our pick-up and drop-off were punctual and convenient. Our guide was very informative and helpful, recommended various ways to spend a few hours in Plovdiv, and gave us the freedom to explore on our own. Great to have had the opportunity to see Asen's Fortress to.
