What people are saying about Plitvice Lakes National Park

Beautiful tour with brillant tour guide.

We are very satisfied with the tour. The tour started with a 1h 40min drive to the National Park which is breathtaking! We were there in April, and even through it was 20°C in Zadar, we definitely needed a jumper - it was quite a bit colder in the park. The Tour guide was very nice and forthcoming. An absolute recommendation!

The tour to Plitvice Lakes was excellent! Highly recommend it.

The tour was well organized and our guide, Thomaslav was friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. Although it was a long day, there was no lag in the activities, sightseeing and conversation. We learned about Croatia's history, culture and society. Plitvice Lakes is beautiful. The combination of walking and short boat ride was a good mix and the trails are easy hiking. Well worth the ticket price for the small group tour.

Fantastic tour of a wonderful part of Croatia.

We were very thankful we were on a small group tour as we could here our guide explaining the delicate nature of the area. Very priveliged to have visited such an unspoilt area, enjoyed immensely, would definitely recommend.

Nikola Dokoza is a great guide for a fascinating park!

I don’t know what most people want from a guide, but for me, the tour should end with my having learned a lot about a place, its history - and the events and people who shaped it. And because I am a passionate photographer, having given me the chance to take interesting images I might not have made on my own. Several - including the host at our B&B - assured me we really didn’t need a guide for the Plitvice Lakes National Park. “You can’t get lost, just follow the trails and people.” Those who believe that miss the history of the park, its seasonal changes beyond the moment they are visiting. They don’t learn the effects of the Serbo-Croatian war - or, as in Nikola’s case, its effect on families. They won’t get the advantage of their guide’s encyclopedic knowledge of the park for those a bit physically challenged (I have atrial fib, which limits my uphill speed), and enables them to use their somewhat limited energy getting to see the best the park has to offer.
