What people are saying about Pingtung
The tour was very enjoyable and good for those that just want to unwind, slow down, relax and take in all the knowledge and magnificent sites of Taiwan. The only thing I would have like was to spend a little more time at Sun Moon Lake and Taroko National Park. The 5 star accommodations were also a plus point and we felt absolutely pampered. We were also very lucky to have Lenny as our tour guide, very knowledgeable, funny and delightful man. He even speaks German and English fluently, and on the trip he tirelessly makes an effort to translate English to German and than to Mandarin; making sure everyone on the tour understands what he's trying to say. And always on the lookout for us, making sure we have enough meal options to decide what we want to have for lunch/dinner and that everyone was on time so we don't hold anyone up or waste any precious time. I highly recommend this tour to anyone that wants to visit key Taiwan sites and get 5 star treatments! ;)
The highlight of the tour was the fact that it was unrushed and we still got to see all the right sights. Daniel the tour guide and William was very helpful all along the way. Daniel was especially good in providing insights of the different places and provide narrative along the way. The good thing as well is all the hotels were top hotels - not just clean but amazingly great - 5 star quality and all had a unique feature to them The facilities in the hotel such as a mist spa in Hotel Fleur de Chine, the actual hot spring in Hotel Royal Chihpen and the wonderful outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi overlooking Taroko Gorge in Silks Palace hotel was amazing. Daniel was the ever gentlemen and always keeping his composure and getting us to our hotels and destination on time. He also was very health and safety aware getting all of us to wear a hard hat in taroko gorge. One feedback is the tires condition on the coach/bus was bald. Need to be better maintained.
The tour was excellently organised and the tour leader Alan Chou was first-rate. The pacing was good, the hotels were great and the man event, the visit to the Taroko Gorge, was given lots of time (unlike the comments on the one-day tour) so that we walked around and saw the whole thing. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
