What people are saying about Pena Palace

A must see with slight improvement of the service

It was fascinating what we saw during the tour. Sintra is beautiful small town with narrow streets and nice shops. Castles are beautiful, especially Quinta de Regaleira with all its surrounding. Capo da Roca is magic, you can see the power of the ocean, and beautiful lighthouse. Cascais is nice Mediterranian town. All in all this tour is a must if you are in Portugal or Lisbon. The only thing that I didn't like is that it was said that the tour will be in English, but the gentleman who was our guide was a driver at same time, speaking in Italian (because a couple from Italy) and English (for the rest of us, five people). The gentleman, that was our guide, is a great guy, but it is not possible to be fully dedicated to tourists if you are thinking where to park a mini-van, to get out of a traffic jam or so. Additionaly, we could hear more about places we visited if the tour was in one language, as it was stated in the reservation.

Best way to see palaces of Sintra, only way to include Montserrat!

I was looking for a tour that included Monserrat, Pena and Quinta da Regaleira - this is the only one that did all three in a day. As fabulous as Pena is, Monserrat was our favorite- should not be missed! Our guide, Augusta, did a fabulous job with the timing and traffic. Saw Pena with almost no one else there- when we left, the lines out front looked like Disneyland already. Went to Quinta next, and Monserrat last. He got us around and thru the other tourists and gave us lots of good info as well. He had perfect suggestions for lunch in town center. A perfect way to see Sintra!

Another visit made easy by buying online GYG tickets

We used our tickets to visit this palace much later in the day when the crowds had dispersed which made for a much more enjoyable time, the palace is open until 19.00hrs (please check, there may be seasonal variations!) so visiting at 16.00 hrs allows ample time and there are frequent trains back to Lisbon late into the evening.

We got there very early so queues no issue - wonderful place

The queues get massive almost immediately. Parking is challenging but fine if early. The palace is unbelievable - one of the most stunning places I have visited. Be prepared for loads of walking up and down hills if you want to see the gardens. Worth every euro - brilliant place to visit.

Paulo was a great and made sure we had an amazing outing!

The outing was great. It was good to get out of Lisbon and visit some different places. Paulo was a wonderful guide, getting the group to the various locations before the crowds and providing interesting/helpful information throughout the tour.
