What people are saying about Peace Walls

Eye opening, shocking and encouraging all at once

The tour provided a vital complement and contrast to the stately architecture and impressive pubs and shops of Belfast city centre. Both of our guides - Jack & Mark - made a point of being were very welcoming, open and honest. I feared I would feel a voyeur but Jack & Mark both conveyed the sense that they want people to know more about what happened in the Troubles, and how things are today, so that understanding can be improved on all sides. The people in the streets we walked through did not seem to mind the presence of incomers staring at their houses, shops, murals and memorials. That seemed quite an irony - these segregated, sectarian communities on both sides are welcoming groups of people who might be from anywhere, and of any political and religious persuasion. It felt difficult to comprehend the horrific things which have taken place as the physical damage from the Troubles has all been cleared and repaired, but the murals and the personal stories on show made it real.

Excellent and well balanced view from both sides of conflict

Rab was excellent with his views from republican side and it gave a very balanced view of the conflict when combined with those of our loyalist guide - very informative and well presented

I am still struggling to understand but the tour helped

The tour helped me to supplement my purely theoretical knowledge with some understanding. The guides' first hand experience of the past - and continuing - political conflict was invaluable.

Very interesting and a great way to learn more about the troubles.

One of the best ways to spend 3 hrs in Belfast if you love history and want to find out more about the conflicts. Both guides had first hand experiance of the troubles and provided lots of interesting information and explained everything from their own perspective well. Both were happy to answer any questions and Mark on the unionist side was very expressive, loud and passionate about putting across his love for what he does in the area and sending out a message. The only problem was that it is in a residential area and it was a very hot day. Make sure you take some water with you and go to the toilet because there an't no stopping once your on it. I have come away feeling a lot more informed about it all and want to find out more about the people and events that were mentioned especially now I've walked the streets and seen the places where it actually happened. This experience will stay with me forever. Thanks for the opportunity.

Very informative tour - a must for any visitor to Belfast

It was very interesting to hear the stories of both sides of the conflict from people that actually lived through it. One of the best tours I’ve ever been on. Would highly recommend this tour.
