Full description
Take a self-guided tour and admire the Sainte Chapelle, a gem of Gothic style. This self-guided tour makes it possible for you to admire this unique monument and learn it's fascinating history.

Get a skip-the-line ticket and a booklet for a self-guided tour. Spend an hour admiring the spectacular stained-glass windows that contribute to make Sainte Chapelle the jewel of the French Gothic. Arranged across 15 windows, each 15-meters high, the stained glass panes depict 1,113 scenes from the Old Testament and New Testament, recounting the history of the world up to the arrival of the relics in Paris.

The Holy Chapel story is deeply linked to sacred relics and items such as the Crown of Thorns or the Image of Edessa that were kept there. Having these sacred relics in his possession made the already powerful monarch the head of western Christianity and allowed him to gain power and influence.

We paid for the tickets and then when we showed the receipt at the front of the queue it was not accepted and we had to Stand aside and download the app and then upload the receipt with a bar code that the ticket office could scan. Next time we will do this ahead of the visit.

Inside was beautiful but security was rude. He actually pushed me back through the metal detector because I still had a small bag around my waist. He then told me to speak French as I'm in France. I do try to speak French to show respect but I am not fluent.

Amazing way to get through without queues. My family arrived 1 hour before the church was to shut with no tickets, they told us that we couldn't even join the line to purchase some luckily this option came up on google. I can't recommend it more, I purchased our tickets in a few minutes and was in the beautiful church shortly after.
