Full description
Visit some of the Loire Valley's most prominent castles on this full-day tour from Paris. Enjoy guided visits through the spectacular chateaux of Chambord and Chenonceau.

The largest and most majestic castle of the Loire valley, Chateau de Chambord features 365 chimneys, 440 rooms, 14 staircases, and 800 turrets which reflect the extravagant architecture of the French Renaissance. Its elaborately developed roofline, bristling with cupolas, turrets, and chimneys resembles the skyline of a city. It features an intricate stone staircase believed to have been designed by Leonardo da Vinci.

Built over the river Cher, Chateau de Chenonceau is one of the jewels of the Loire Valley. Known as the Chateau des Dames, five women played major roles in its history: it was built in 1513 by Catherine Briconnet, embellished by Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici, and saved from destruction during the French Revolution by Madame Dupin. Your guide will introduce you to the history of the castle, and you will have ample free time to stroll its sumptuous gardens.

Was very beautiful scene to watch!

Could use more commentary from the guide, not too much time to explore the places that the guide haven't showed us. On the way back we didnt have a stop for bathroom (4 hours drive) was kind of not nice. Should be mentioned that the drop off and pick off is a Taxi and not the actual bus for people that don't know. Overall was a great experience

A good day spent walking through two Castles with knowledgeable guides

This is a must see if you have not been to any castles. Although it is a long day my only thought would be your itinerary be more specific about what you should bring and how long the drive is. Also how long the tour is as they guide you through each castle. Definitely need good walking shoes/sneakers as you traverse thru uneven paths and cobblestone walkways. It would have been best to provide lunch vs wine tasting especially having spent almost $500 USD for 2 adults. Other than the tour, bus ride and transportation to/from our hotel extremely early in the morning, I would expected a sandwich would have been the right thing to do rather than some wine sips and some tapas/deserts to cleanse your pallots. They did stop for a break to use a rest room and buy yourselves something to eat but by no means was it good food. The tour was good, very interesting but the ride long.. not worth $500.

Great tour

The tour and guides were amazing. The downside was on our way back we had hired a drop off service at our hotel. Nobody was helping us, we had to go into the office again and tried to find out what was going on. Finally our driver came. WORST driver ever: rude, speeding and driving like a maniac. When we got to the hotel I called back the agency to complain. They left me on the phone for about 10 minutes until I hung up.
