What people are saying about Palm Springs
This was a stunning ride. Go up in daylight and down after dark. That way you see the towers that hold the tram up and the stunning closeness to the rocky terrain. Then, you see the city lights below on your way back. We got a bit queesy from the altitude at first but recovered in time to have a great dinner at the restaurant at the peak. The large, expensive steak dinner is plenty for two. The Malbeck wine goes well with it. With two side dishes, wind and desert you will pay a bit over $100.00. There is a less expensive alternative place to eat if you want to do so.
I went in at about 10 with my husband. We waited in line shortly, and traded our voucher for two tickets for the 10:30 ride. We went up to the top and enjoyed walking and hiking around. We were there for about 4 hours. It's absolutely beautiful up there and amazing to think that there is this jem 8,000 feet up. We definitely want to go back and do one of the longer hikes! Must do activity!
This was a spectacular rid, well-run and safe. The park at the top is really special and you should go as early as you can and stay as long as you can or even camp overnight. I'm looking forward to going back in the winter for snowshoeing or skiing on the top of the San Jacintos! Bring your own food, if you can, but there is a cafeteria that is ok. Good fries.
My daughter and I loved the beautiful scenery of Palm Springs and its surrounds. The Cable Car was a great experience and the cool temp up the mountain was a welcome relief from the desert heat! The Zoo was a little rushed but good to see and the outlet shops provided us with some very good bargains. Overall a really enjoyable day out!!
I really enjoyed the ride up to the top. We went around sunset and saw the sky changing colors on our way up. The tram ride attendants were super friendly, I especially liked the lady who was playing great music on our way down! She was funny and entertaining. Didn't realize a tram ride would be so fun!
