What people are saying about Oranjestad
The tour itself was fine and our driver/guide was friendly and informative. So, it is a good value for the money. However, the administrative aspect of the tour can use some improvements. While already on board our cruise ship, I received an e-mail stating the tour meeting time to be 45 minutes later than the tour starting time printed on my original tour reservation sheet (i.e. 8:30AM vs 7:45AM). That really caused me some confusion. Since I had wi-fi on board, I was able to write to the local operator and found out that the 8:30AM notice was incorrect for cruise ship customers. But about 6 other cruise ship travelers did arrive about 30 minutes later since they thought the departure was was changed to 8:30AM. I ran into a similar problem while on a tour during a cruise to Iceland. It seems tour aggregators that subcontracts tours to local operators are sometimes not careful and specific about the exact meeting place & time for cruise passengers.
We are 50+ in age and loved this tour. The off road portion of the tour was rough (we asked for extreme off-road) and our tour guide complied. This was definitely a highlight of our vacation and would recommend the full day for anyone wanting to see the entire island in one tour. It seems expensive at $100 per person but for us it was worth every penny. We did the 8 hr tour. They supplied all the pop and water you wanted while on the tour and provided a very nice lunch at their restaurant. The stops along the tour were great... natural bridge, old smelter, light house, ostrich far, caves, natural pool and baby beach (snorkeling stops), and all the island scenery on route was all excellent.
ABC tours is fantastic. Get ready for a full day of fun and excitement and alot of laughs. Ask for Raul as your guide. He is great. He is very knowledgeable and will keep you laughing all day. The land rover jeeps as really in good shape. You have a fantastic lunch on the all day tour. We came across wild donkeys, wild goats, and beautiful fish in the ocean. Fantastic!
My wife Ronette and I have been riding since our early teenage years, never owned our own horses but our family's used to. We have been on many rides thru out the states and as experienced riders this is the BEST ONE we have been on and our guide Kat was super,There are a lot of boring rides out there this is DEFINITELY not one of them . THANK YOU JOHN & RONETTE
My friends and I booked the all-day tour on 2/1 and it was SO worth it! Our guides, Ron and Joel, knew their history and also knew how to have fun. Joel was the driver of our Jeep and his off-roading skills were the highlight of my trip to Aruba!! You get to see the entire island and the lunch served was also great. Just remember to load up on sunscreen. :-)
