What people are saying about Old Town Triangle
WE purchased our tickets in the morning and our payment was processed and tickets were emailed to me, however when we showed up on for our event our names were not on the tour list. We were asked to call in ourself to sort out but I made the tour director do it even though he is asked not to call and have the customer call. As I do not have a cell phone and my husband did not purchase an out of country data package and I was not going to incur a daytime long distance and data roaming to fix something that we should not have to fix. This needs to be looked into and improved upon. The tour guide and the driver were really great at their job and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Our docent was very talented in her presentation and knowledgable about Chicago’s corrupt past. She told us everything, starting with Streeterville and moving into the Northside and Southside Gangs and the creation of the FBI. We got to stand in areas where John Dillinger walked and died and visit buildings where the Southside Gang (led by Frank Nitti) planned its criminal activities throughout the city. It was a fascinating presentation... I’d certainly take this tour again.
Mitch was awesome!!! We learned so much about the city and about how the crime and mob history had an effect on Chicago growing to the city it is today!! Did I say Mitch was awesome!?!? He was so smart and did not stop talking the whole tour!!! Would definitely recommend if anyone takes this tour to have Mitch as their guide!!! Awesome time!! Learned a lot!! And will probly go on this tour again.... can we request Mitch???
Our tour guide knew the history very well and had a great personality to get it across. The 90 minutes felt like 30. I liked getting on and off the few times we did so we weren't sitting too long. The bus seat and A/C was very comfortable and it had very large tinted windows for great viewing.
Really good information about the Chicago crime and mob, however, a video to go along with the presentation would have been great to show what the buildings looked like, since so many of them are no longer standing, as the driver gets to the place where it once stood.
