Top sights in Paris
This Gothic masterpiece took almost 200 years to build, only to be trashed by Huguenots, Revolutionaries, and World War II. Restoration efforts have triumphantly returned every last detail of the cathedral to its former magnificence. Here's what to look for!
The expressive stone gargoyles along the cathedral's facade are perhaps the most famous in the world. Just don't expect them to talk and fly like in The Hunchback of Notre Dame!
At Notre Dame's south facade, the stained-glass Rose Window illustrates the story of the New Testament through an astonishing 84 panes!
There are no less than three organs at Notre Dame, but you definitely won't miss the main one. The Great Organ comprises an impressive five keyboards and 8,000 pipes!
Among the religious relics on display at Notre Dame are a piece of Jesus' crucifix and a suspiciously bling Crown of Thorns. Get Your Guide cannot guarantee their authenticity!
The tower provides visitors with a Quasimodo's-eye-view of the city below, while the crypt tells Notre Dame's history through ruins discovered at the site during construnction.
Admission to Notre Dame is free, but visitors will need tickets to enter the tower (€8.50) and the crypt (€6). Access to both is included in the price of the Paris Pass.
The closest Metro stop is Cité on the Metro 4 line.
There are 387 steps to reach the panaromas over Paris and see the gargoyles up close, so it's best to know your physical limits.

What people are saying about Notre-Dame Cathedral
Nothing makes more of a good memory than the personal touch of a lovely guide. Doina, full of surprises, gave us a tour with an unexpected mix of facts and fun. Prepared with sketches of the church, she led us within the inside and outside, explaining us the figures and happily answered our questions. The binoculars come handy to see the details. The meeting point was precise and she was there before to greet us. I had a lot of fun and felt sooo alive, peaceful because of the spirit of the church and inspired by the presence of Doina.
The online booking process was effortless and the follow up and reminders are second to non.Hassle free entry at the tour site. My wife and I had a great time. Garth and Cheryl tnt
Our guide, Doina, was amazing with our 8 and 10 year olds- super engaging and friendly. This was by far our best tour in Paris.
No better way to discover Paris and its Cathedral Notre Dame de Paris than following Fred as a guide. A very nice parisian, with strong knowledges, talking about the city history, its art, its specificities, its little stories... with a lot of care, generosity and a touch of humor keeping you smiling and enjoying the moment. Definitely recommended
The group was small, the components of the tour succinct and overall most enjoyable.
