Full description
Brazil's northeast coast is known for its countless beaches, but it is also an area rich with culture and tradition. On your full-day trip to the beach of Barra do Cunhaú, you will be provided with a look at the tradition and history of the coastal city of Cunhaú.

Meet your guide after breakfast and then travel 55 miles (88 kilometers) from Natal to Barra do Cunhaú. Here, you will first see The Chapel of the Martyrs. This chapel is a monument to a group of Brazilians who were killed by the Dutch soldiers while engaging in Sunday Mass.

From here, you will visit the mouth of Cunhaú River. This part of the water is extremely calm, making it popular for kite surfers and prawn farmers alike. After reaching the nearby beach, you will have time to swim both in the river and the sea and to try local fare at your leisure.

There is an optional boat trip down the river, providing you with the opportunity to visit mangroves, see small hidden beaches, and watch local fishermen catch freshwater crabs.
