Full description
Visit the site of the World Trade Center on a poignant walking tour of the monuments and memorials to those who perished and survived the terrible events of September 11, 2001.
Start at St. Paul's Chapel, and learn about the important role it played in the aftermath of the attacks. Go to 9/11 Memorial Plaza and pause for reflection at the memorial pools. Get detailed descriptions from your guide about each monument, from the design of the pools to the architecture of the new World Trade Center and its symbolic use of materials, light and reflection.
Pay your respects at the Fireman's Memorial and American Express 11 Tears Memorial, often missed by those who visit on their own. Get an up-close look at the reconstruction of the site as you visit Brookfield Place and see The Oculus, the 4-billion dollar centerpiece of the new World Trade Center transportation hub.
Following the walking tour of the area you'll enter the 9/11 Museum where you'll learn more about the terrible events independently on a self guided visit (Museum option must be chosen at time of booking. You will receive your tickets for the 9/11 Museum from your guide when you arrive for the start of the walking tour.) See more than 23,000 images and 10,300 artifacts that tell the story, and hear some of the 2,000 oral histories of those killed, mostly provided by friends and families.
