Full description
Explore the tragic events of 11 September 2001 from a local perspective on a 2-hour tour of all the sites of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan. Visit Ground Zero to get a deeper understanding of how 9/11 impacted the city and the world, and the long struggle New York went through to move forward.

Tour in small groups for a level of intimacy and peace fitting for such a visit. Local guides provide a more personal feel, giving the 9/11 Memorial and its surrounds a human context.

Meet at St. Peter’s Church to learn how people gathered there awaiting news of their loved ones, and to mourn, pray and offer support. See poignant handmade memorials that are a constant reminder that 9/11 was a crippling personal tragedy for thousands of New Yorkers, as well as a global event.

Next go to Ground Zero to see the stunning 9/11 Memorial Pools, built in the footprint of the twin towers. Read the inscriptions of all the names of those who perished there. Your guide will give a more personal account of the tragedy, taking you to Fireman’s Memorial and the Survivor Tree. Hear incredible stories of courage and loss that unfolded right where you stand.

Informative and heartfelt.

Plan for four hours if you include the private tour, which I would suggest. We were starving and wished we would have gotten a bite to eat before going into the museum. There is so much to see but we ran out of steam. Everything we saw and heard was presented so beautifully. Overall a great experience.

Great customer service

Although I signed up for the walking tour followed by a visit to the museum, I chose to skip the tour so that I could spend more time at the museum. The company were very understanding and accommodating and emailed me my ticket so that I could go to the museum earlier on my own. Note: you really need more than an hour to go through the whole museum.

If you do one tour - do this

We had Rob as our tour guide. Having been to Ground Zero before I was a bit sceptical about doing a tour - however - we went to places around the World Trade Centre that you wouldn't two existed. The small church was fascinating, and Rob had loads of interesting facts and stories - none of which was repetitive . It wasn't just all about 9/11 either - it encompassed the whole history of the area plus future plans. I had my 22 year old daughter, plus 16 yr old son with me and both enjoyed it and rated it highly. Definitely one of the best 2 hour tours we've ever done. My experience though is that it varies very much by guide - Rob was great - well done.
