During this tour, you'll check out where famous artists recorded their debut albums, the neighborhood bars where Elliott Smith wrote XO and Stephin Merritt wrote the Magnetic Fields' 69 Love Songs, and where James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem began his DJ career.

You'll also see where Beck, Regina Spektor, King Missile, and the Moldy Peaches all started their careers at open mic night. Go to the venues where the Strokes, Interpol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Beck, Anohni, and Neutral Milk Hotel made their live debuts and the apartments where Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Stephin Merritt, and Jonathan Fire*eater lived early in their careers.

Visit legendary venues including Sin-e, Sidewalk Cafe, Tonic, Brownies, the Pyramid Club, Luna Lounge, Meow Mix, and Cake Shop. As you make your way through the Lower East Side you will learn and discuss the history of both neighborhoods and how they impacted the Indie Rock music genre.
