Full description
On this 2-hour guided tour you’ll take a walk through the High Line, New York’s only elevated park. The 1-mile-long linear park was created on a section of the former elevated New York Central Railroad on Manhattan’s west side.

Stroll through the Chelsea neighborhood from a unique vantage point, treading along the path once traversed by fire-breathing locomotives! Enjoy surprising views of the Hudson River.

The tour begins at the famous Chelsea marketplace and a visit to an art gallery may be included. Walk through former factories and warehouses, where trains would unload their goods right inside the building.

Hear stories about the famous Meatpacking District and how it was transformed from rows of slaughterhouses to one of the most chic neighborhoods in the world. See amazing architecture ranging from the ultramodern Standard Hotel and the undulating glass curtain design of the IAC building to the Art Deco-era Empire State Building.

Gabby was pleasant but a few too many stories or comments about sexual topics for a family tour (what she and her tour witnessed in the windows of the Standard Hotel/Standard Hotel opening its doors to affected New Yorkers during the recent power outage and innuendo about how their time was spent are just two specific examples). I’m far from a prude, but the extent of similar comments was unnecessary. Then, she provided totally inaccurate information about the new 30 Hudson Yards building and “balcony.” She said it was part of a $35 million penthouse. Its actually an observation deck opening to the public later this year

A very informative and funny tour

Loved this tour and was very surprised as I didn't think my children would enjoy this. They loved it and so did we. We had Kevin as our guide and he was excellent and very funny! Sophie and George thought he was hilarious and he kept them engaged and they said he was their favourite guide during our action packed week. I would highly recommend this tour and if you get Kevin then that's a bonus! Lucy Childs
