Full description
One of the most interesting and informative historical sites in New Orleans is the St. Louis Cemetery no. 1. This is the final resting place of thousands, and includes the graves of notable names such as the famous Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau, the great chess genius Paul Morphy, and Etienne de Bore, a the wealthy pioneer of the sugar industry.

Led by an expert guide, walk through the site where Easy Rider was filmed, get to grips with the strong Voodoo heritage of New Orleans, and learn about some of the key players in the civil rights movement.

Learn some of the more spooky facts lurking in the St. Louis Cemetery! Hear about the unique above-ground burial system. This system was possibly adopted due to the small amount of space on offer. Because of space shortages, the cemetery has also over the years, been known to re-use tombs.

Although this tour has a spooky nature, it is suitable for both children and adults, and offers a unique slant on the history of New Orleans.
