Full description
Discover New Orleans through its food on this immersive tour of the French Quarter and Garden District Tour. Start the tour with New Orleans’ most iconic breakfast pastry, the beignet. Next, head to the French Market, the site of America’s oldest public market where you’ll stop for a local bite. From the French Market, stroll the picturesque streets of the French Quarter where your guide will take you to some of their favorite eateries. You’ll also have the chance to try classic New Orleans gumbo.

Finish the food portion of your tour with a sweet treat made from locally grown sugarcane and the region’s abundant pecans. Then, follow your guide to the Garden District where you can marvel at the area's renowned Antebellum architecture and visit the famously unique Lafayette Cemetery. Next, stroll past more gorgeous homes, some with famous Hollywood connections.

Later, visit the working-class area known as the Irish Channel which developed in the early 1800s when the city’s shipping, alcohol, and brewing industries drew workers from all over the world, especially from Ireland. Finally, sample one of New Orleans’ most famous foods: the po-boy sandwich, washed down with a glass of local beer. Your guide will then take you back to the streetcar line, where your Garden District tour ends.

French quarter food was just that- food. Don’t eat before taking this tour. I did enjoy learning about and tasting NO foods although I would have enjoyed more historical information. Lots of walking too. The garden tour was disappointing but I was tired from the morning tour. Cemetery was closed so couldn’t go in. Rest of tour was walking around neighborhood looking at various forms of architecture. I expected gardens but there weren’t any- just describes neighborhood
