Excellent bike tour. Great guide, bikes, facility and value.

My son and I were in town for the weekend for an ice hockey tournament and we needed an activity to kill a few hours. A friend suggested we rent a couple of bikes and ride around DC. In searching for bike rentals, I came across the Fat tire bike tours. We could not be happier with our experience. The facility was clean and cool, to accommodate the hot day. We were greeted at the door, and everyone was super friendly. After a brief tutorial, they set us up with some very nice bikes, clean helmets and bottled waters and we were on our way. If only I could remember our tour guides’ name, to give credit where it’s due. He was very knowledgeable, engaging and looked out for the safety of our group. If you are in DC, this is a must do. And for the thirty some odd dollars for the tour, it was well worth it.

Knowledgeable live guides and punctual pick up times

Was going to use Circulator, but found out BigBus stopped outside our hotel. It was so hot (90 degrees) so we opted for tickets. We were well pleased with the pick up punctuality compared to our experience in Philly. We used the tracking app and it was pretty accurate. Stop info was enough to give us an idea of what each attraction offered. Particularly we enjoyed the live tour guide (can't remember her name) but she was super knowledgeable and had many close ties to the area. My 14 year old grandson was so impressed with her knowledge he was thinking he would like to be a guide. He loves history and geography.

A fast and nice way to get a good overview of DC

It was nearly 35 C in DC. Luckely the tour provided us with enough cold water for free! And kept us in the shade as much as possible. There ar enough stops. In total we biked 10km (6 miles). First to the White House. Then Trump Hotel, FBI and J. Edgar Hoover Building, US Navy Memorial and National Archives Building, Newseum to the Capitol Hill. Then along al the Smotisonians and Memorials along the National Mall. It was a nice group and 3 hours pass very quick although with this heat it was enough for the day!

Great way to get familiar with the attractions a city has to offer.

We used the Washington Hop-On, Hop-Off bus to see as many attractions as possible. We got the 2 day pass and used the first day to prioritize the various monuments and museums we wanted to see. We used the second day to budget our time in seeing all of the attractions we wanted to see and we were already familiar with the bus schedule. The narration provided on most of the routes was also informative and helpful.

Great way for the family to visit the sights!

Chris was a knowledge & excellent host. He took us through the various sights of DC an explained everything in a friendly and informative manner. I would really recommend this to families as it was fun for the children and they were able to learn without getting bored! Thank you Chris for a lovely afternoon in your beautiful city.
