What people are saying about Nakhon Pathom
I was just a couple of days in Bangkok and doing a tattoo with a monk and a bamboo stick was a must for me. I started researching about where I could do my tattoo and found out the temple wat brang prah, which is the most famous and most important temple they do Sak Yant tattoos. After that I found out it was far outside from Bangkok, even though I have a friend living there, she told me it wasn't easy to get to that temple. I found out some options like taxi or bus that were cheaper but I never considered that the monks or anyone in the temple speaks English or other language beside Thai. At the end I book the trip with this guys and it was the best thing I could it have done. They pick you right on time at your hotel, they take you to the temple in a nice and comfortable sedan, the guy is really nice and really helpful, once you get there he starts doing everything and thats when you notice the value of what you paid. The guy does everything for you. EXCELENT SERVICE. I Love my new t
Our guide, Gansta, was exactly on time and called out to me. Our guide had a comfortable air conditioned vehicle with nice music to relax to. My guest and I were able to rest our eyes during the smooth long ride to the temple. Upon arrival we were informed of various practices and tips of what was going to transpire throughout our visit. The tattoo itself was pretty quick, about 25 minutes. The needles etc aren't like at a typical shop, sterile and gloves, but more basic, nonetheless this didn't affect my impression, as I was seeking something authentic and not commercial. It is now 3 weeks since my trip and the tattoo has completely healed. We were given cold bottled water while at the temple. Our guide never left our side, even while waiting for our blessing from a monk. The experience was unforgettable and priceless. I would definitely look to recommend and obtain future services from "Get Your Guide".
We only decided to get the holy tattoo three days before but everything went better than expected. We were picked up right on time from our private residence in the heart of Bangkok by the most caring and courteous man who looked after us the entire time. We never felt unsure of what to do, where to go or what was happening at any point. After receiving the holy tattoo that was blessed by the monk, our private guide took us through the temple and explained some very important and interesting facts about the history behind the whole process. I can not recommend this experience or the people highly enough. If you are thinking of this experience while in Bangkok, don't hesitate or miss the opportunity.
I started researching sak yant tattoos about six months ago, after two decades of interest in Buddhism. Because the temple is outside Bangkok and I don't have a car here, and because my Thai language is limited, I decided to hire a driver who would also help with translation. My driver was great -- he had been to Wat Bang Phra before and knew where I should wait, and he even stayed with me during the tattoo process. It was a fascinating experience. I'm normally someone who travels without a tour guide and don't normally book pre-planned excursions. But for something as unique and complicated as this, it was the perfect choice.
The tattoo tour went very well. Our guide met us exactly on time and was very kind. There was about an hour wait once we got to the temple at 7 because the tattoo sessions didn't start until 8. Since we were early we were the first to get our tattoos done. From there we received a blessing from another monk and the tour was over. I would not have done this if I didn't have a guide so I'm very happy to have found this tour.
