What people are saying about Nairobi

Very knowledgeable and pleasant guide, action packed day

Driver Alex was great, contacted us by phone to be ready (at 5:45 am, we suspected he might be early) and whisked us to arrive at the park at 6:30 am after loading guests at hotels. He drove all over the park until nearly 11 am, finding large numbers of lions, rhinos white and black, giraffes, ostriches, etc. He has good communication with the other drivers and they help each other locate animals. (NB be careful not to drink too much coffee before you start, as we did not notice a toilet there) After the park he got us to the David Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary in time for the excellent show there, which shares the individuality, playfulness, curiosity and lives of each small orphan elephant, despite their sad experiences. Lunch was a bit expensive and not so tasty, they could choose another venue. The Giraffe Centre was great, both getting up close and personal with very tame giraffes and great staff showing us the museum of conservation. A great day out and much recommended.

Our driver, James, was amazing! He knew the park really well!

I appreciated how he connected with other drivers via satellite radio to find out whether they have spotted any animals. Through the connections and him knowing the park really well we managed to find the lioness and it was awesome! I say that this because there were other drivers he tried to direct to where the lioness was and other drivers were lost. He was jovial and gave the sense that he liked and loved his job. We were lucky to start the day with the sight of two hyenas, then our driver got the word about the lioness and I was blown away by that experience. In the four hours, we got to see lots of giraffes, buffalos, 2rhino, warthogs, antelopes, gazelles, heartbeast, jackal, lots of different birds, crocodile, ostriches, and the ivory site. The experience was amazing!

Mixed feelings, some things I liked, somethings I didn’t

Very irritated having to wait one hour to buy the ticket to start the safari, because there were supposed to be four people on the tills and only two turned up. The actual safari was wonderful! The guide worked very hard to find the animals and was happy to stop when asked. There were specific roads so you couldn’t crowd around a specific animal, I liked that very much. The back drop of Nairobi was spectacular. Seeing the baby elephants was wonderful, the only downfall was that because it s the rainy season everyone was caked in red mud. It was also very dangerous when walking on the paving stones. I hated the giraffe centre, everyone fighting to get a photo and for some reason everyone seemed lose their manners. I would not recommend this centre.

A really good start to our Safari Holiday

We visited Nairobi National Park on the first day of our Safari Holiday in Kenya. The visit lasted 3 hours and we saw Three female Lionesses with their cubs having justb fed on a Zebra. A pair of Rhinos Buffalo so 3 of the big 5. We saw Lots of other animals loads of Zebra, Different Antelopes and gazelles, a Crocodile and Hippos. Numerous birds. later we visited the David Sheldrick Elephant ophanage at feeding times to see the baby elephants get their milk and mud bath. We then went to the Giraffe centre and fed giraffes by hand. Highly recommend this trip as many Safaris start the day after you arive and this is the ideal way to use the day.

Great Compact Safari Tour for Business Travelers

Being quite skeptical on what to expect from a city near Game Park, my expectations had been far exceeded. My guide Maine (best guide ever) picked my up on time from the hotel and drove me to the East Entrance with no wait time at all. Due to the communication between the drivers they drove to all places others spotted animals. Therefore we were able to see all possible wildlife in a brief period. The guide was very well equipped with knowledge about the wilderness and individual animals. Definitely recommend it to business travelers and flight crews that are staying in Nairobi
