What people are saying about Mykonos

Amazing Delos ruins to explore however 2.5 hours is not long enough!!!

Amazing ruins to explore over a whole half an island. However 2.5 hours is simply not long enough to explore and marvel at such ruins!!! The 1st trip we went on was a guided tour which started with absolute chaos at the port as there was no clarity on which boat to get on (standard ferry vs fast boat). Even with buying tickets online we (plus many others) even after queuing were sent back to the ticket booth to pick up actual boat paper tickets, which then gave the boat crews a chance to determine which passengers should go on which boat. Sort your tickets out! Most trips only seem to be 10:00 to 13:30 with arrival at 1100. Luckily on our 1st trip passengers from a cruise ship also joined that day so another boat had to be laid on which meant we could stay to 15:30 We then went again the day after as non-guided passengers but only got 2.5 hours to explore! For the money we paid including another long 30min que at the Delos site ticket office felt like a rip off! Delos is worth it tho!

Perfect tour for the highlights of Delos and Mykonos!

This all day tour allowed the perfect amount of time to see the highlights of Delos and enjoy lunch and some shopping (or some beach time) in Mykonos! Delos is phenomenal and if you want a lot of the history and to see as much as possible in the time you'll get there (2.5 - 3 hours), get a guide when you get there. Prefer to just walk around and soak it in? That's ok too, the provided map has the trails highlighted. You'll get just enough time in Mykonos to have lunch, walk the side streets, stroll up to the windmills, and get lost at least once! That's the charm of the town! There is also a beach right there by the port, so if you'd rather just swim, there is that option too. One suggestion...ask about the transportation coming back to Pariokia when you are dropped off. There were 3 of us milling around looking for a small shuttle bus like we arrived in, only to find out they had us going back on a big tour bus...but there were no sign or anything on the bus! Almost missed it

Must see archaeological site, so much history and stunning!

Easy to book, check in and every step is being clarified before boarding the boat tour to the Delos Island. The tour guide was knowledgeable and allowed us time to explore and explained so much in details. however, at the end when there was time for us to explore ourselves, it was all a bit lost, no one told us what time we need to be back at the pier, and whether there were name checks to make sure everyone is back on, and so i saw so many people in fear of being left behind, they would rather cut short the exploring and stood and waited by the boat. Something needs to be done better to make sure everyone gets to spend as much time as they can on the island to take photos and check everything out. I wished there is also an option to reserve online and pay at the ticket booth, as many tourists may have sufficient cash fund with them, rather than using a non Euro currency card to pay which will incur an additional fee, which is not ideal.

Great tour, learned a lot of fun & interesting facts about Delos

Definitely worth doing a tour, there aren’t many info stations on Delos (and less in English) and the tour guide was very informative about the fascinating history of Delos. One thing not made clear when booking online ticket-you have to wait in a long line at Mykonos to collect the paper ticket. But everyone in the line for 10am tours made it; the 10am boat didn’t leave until 10:30 and a tour guide in line told us that was normal. We had about 90min with the guide on Delos, but she said she got through everything and didn’t seem rushed. You’re given the option to take any of the three (1:30,3,&7) afternoon ferries back (ticket included in tour price) so those who want to stay longer to explore the island can. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in fully experiencing Delos island!

Excellent tour of a very interesting place

Good: Our guide was an educated Archaeologist, who gave us a thorough understanding of not only the site, but the background of how Delos came to be. She was one of the best guides we have ever had. The arrangements were all easy to execute and understand, and the boat rides were enjoyable. Bad: We were a little late leaving for Delos, around 30 minutes. We still got back in time to eat port side in Mykonos, walk the streets, and see the Windmills. We did not walk up the hill to the 2 temples, but there is time to do them on your own if you want.
