Irene was fantastic, she spent time helping you understand the history of the the work, the technical construction and how to identify the symbolic references for the eras the various prices depicted. This was incredibly useful when visiting the Reina Sofia the next day as you could see the various influences from multiple artists on the works in both museums. Fantastic experience.
Thre museum is wonderful but we appreciated most of all the The guide Macarena was perfect: competent, knowledgeable, attentive, with very good English. 90 minutes were over before we knew this because we were taken away by the excursion. Thank you very much for this memorable experience!
It was a real bargain for a wonderful 2h walk through to the best paintings of the museum. Our guide was charming and had something to say about the story of every painting as well as insights about the period of the painting and the artist.
For someone who is keen on art but knows very little on pre 20th century art I found the tour invaluable in highlighting the most important paintings/artists in what is a massive, overwhelming collection at the Prado.
Our guide Rocio was wonderful. She painted a complete picture for us of the Prado and the special paintings she pointed out. It truly was a wonderful art history lesson. On top of all that she was engaging.
