Full description
Take a tour from Tokyo to see two of Japan’s UNESCO sites, Shirakawa Village and Mount Fuji. Visit a soba noodle shop, explore a morning market, and walk through one of Japan’s most beautiful gardens, Kenroku-en, in a single two-day trip through the heart of Japan.

Day 1:
Choose to meet in either Ikebukuro or Shinjuku and board a bus to take you to your first stop, Mount Fuji. Arrive around midday at Mount Fuji 5th Station at the mountain’s base, and take 40 minutes to soak in the breathtaking views of Japan’s landscape. Gaze up at the snow-capped peak that reaches 3,776 meters (around 12,388 feet), which has inspired masterpieces of literature and art throughout Japanese history.

Then, take a lunch break at Fuji-Q Highland, an amusement park. Enjoy a Western-style set lunch, with vegetarian options available if specified when booking.

After lunch, you will continue your journey to Hida-Takayama, where you will stay at your self-booked accommodation. You will be dropped off at JR Takayama Station. The bus tour will continue the next day from West Exit of JR Takayama Station.

Day 2:
Start the day by browsing the Takayama Morning Market until 9:25 AM. Enjoy a wide variety of delicious and creative local specialties, such as freshly squeezed orange juice served in orange peel cups or freshly brewed coffee in cookie cups.

From there, head to Shirakawa Village (Shirakawa-go) at 10:20 AM and arrive at 11:40 AM. Explore and allow yourself to be fascinated by this historical World Heritage site with gassho-style houses said to have stood for over 300 years. Admire the village’s unique cultural practices and traditional lifestyle, originating from the region’s former wildness and being cut off from neighboring areas.

At 12:50 PM, you will take the bus for 1 hour 20 minutes to your next stop, Kenroku-en Garden in Kanazawa, a city in Ishikawa Prefecture. Take your lunch in a scenic spot and admire what is considered one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan. Explore the garden’s 11.4-acre grounds next to Kanazawa Castle. Discover the garden’s large artificial pond, hills, and houses dotted throughout, which tell the tale of past times.

Then, visit Soba no Sato for a soba noodle tasting. Try these traditional buckwheat noodles and buy some to bring home with you.

Move on to your final stop, Lake Biwa (Biwako), the largest freshwater lake in Japan. Take in its vastness from the observation deck.

At the end of your two-day tour, you will be dropped off at either Kyoto Avanti at 6:20 PM, Namba OCAT at 7:20 PM, or Hearton Hotel Nishi-Umeda at 7:40 PM. Please inform the local partner which drop-off point you prefer during the booking stage.
