buying the ticket was easy and the guide was already waiting for us with the tickets when we reached there. She was very nice and explained everything very good, in fluent english. The bunker is a must see, because of what it represents, everything in there is still kept as it is. Even though it was supposed to be built for Staline, it actually was built 3 years after his death and used until as recently as late 80s ! PEOPLE WITH CLAUSTROPHOBIA SHOULD AVOID !!, it is a bunker after all. As interesting as it is, it gives you the chills, after touring and witnessing a mock nuclear bomb launch, by the help of the visitors, when one realises what could have happened ! The tour of the bunker itself could be improved, the local guid only talked english, and most of the signs are only in russian, sometimes making you feel like an illiterate, but no matter what, it is a part of history one should see. Oh! and there are 300 steps to go down and up again after the tour...
So for anyone visiting Moscow, the Kremlin is a place you might have thought wouldn't be accessible but it is. Infact it's a must see on your visit. This tour will start off beside Red Square and the guide will bring you into Red Square and then down to the Garden built by a former Tsar. Its great value for money. You get to hear information that you won't get from a map or book. Plus the guide will have your tickets ready so you don't have to join the ticket queue. You'll only have to join the security check queue which moves quickly. So to summarise, this tour is good value for money. Our guide was very knowledgeable and very friendly. I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Its well worth booking. The Kremlin has the wow factor.
The tour took us to important sites that marked turning points of Soviet Russian history. The guide was very knowledgeable and took time to answer all our questions. Would recommend this tour to anybody interested in Soviet Russia. The tour was not as crowded as the general sightseeing tours and included visits to similar spots (Bolshoi Theatre, Red Square, Tverskaya Blvd. etc.).
Margareta was great to talk to. She knew a lot about the history of the Red Square and Kremlin. I would mark it normally as a five, but I believe that she should have known that due to a public event the main entrances to Kremlin were closed and we had to send sone time finding an entrance.
We really enjoyed this tour. It was very informative and took us to places we might not have found on our own. We learned a lot from Andrew and we enjoyed hearing about the history of the Peter the Great Monument and also about some of the statues in the sculpture garden. Recommend highly.
