Moscow is such a stunning city. After a few days of museums, galleries, and historical tours, our family of four (of which I am the youngest at 28) decided to break with the conventional, and do this alternative tour. Ana was a truly insightful, accommodating and proficient guide. We went to a quirky gentrifying area that had the cutest cafe (which I returned to after the tour for a brilliant flat white), book shop, bars and street art. The guide-to- participant ratio meant we had time to ask as many questions as we liked, eliciting local views of politics, youth subcultures, and life in Moscow more generally. This tour was the highlight of an already magical trip to Russia. Thanks for the tour, Ana - we will be back!
I booked this at very short notice online, and met the guide as per the booking in front of the entrance to the Kremlin. The tour lasted an hour and a half and covered most of the areas within the Kremlin, apart from the armoury, where you need a seperate ticket. The tour was very enjoyable and an ear piece and amplifier was provided so that you could easily hear the guides commentary, even if standing some distance away. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone curious to see and find out the history of the buildings which make up the Kremlin in Moscow. It was professionally conducted and well organised.
We loved this tour. We enjoyed being told about the recent history of Moscow by a local guide. Elena described events in the communist history very well, and her description of these events was made even more interesting with the anecdotes she told about specific people's experiences. She took us to places that we simply could not have found on our own without doing a lot of research. We not only learned a lot but it helped us to become familiar with the city centre and so I think it’s a great tour to do early on in your visit.
The Kreml Tour is a highlight of every visit in Moscow. With this tour, you bypass the lines and directly enter. The tour is two hours, introduces you to the most important tsars in Russian history as well as the more recent past including the time of the Soviet Union. I especially liked with our guide how well she put everything in context, meaning that she embedded every fact within the whole history. Also, the introduction in Russian Orthodox iconoclastics was interesting. All in all a great tour, highly recommended!
The Communist tour was our first activity of our 5-day stay in Moscow. It was a great way to see a lot of the city, get our bearings, and learn a great deal about an important piece of Soviet history. Anna our guide had tons of information and was happy to answer all of our questions. I would highly recommend this tour to gain insight into this complex and beautiful city.
