What people are saying about Montserrat Monastery

Just an awesome experience with an even awesome guide Mark.

This was our first hot air balloon ride ever and we just loved it. The whole process of picking us up from the city and then driving to the location was managed very well. We were made a part of inflating the balloon and it was fun while being on the balloon too with the pilot and Mark, our guide. The visit to the monastery was also cool. Mark was amazing with his history info and also being fun and accommodating. One thing I have to mention though- I was kind of hoping that the balloon goes over the Monseratt mountains which it didn't. They said it's dependent on wind direction but to be honest, we were really really far away from those mountains. If we wanted to go over those mountains (like they have shown in pics), we at least would've had to launch close to the mountains.

Not a full day tour, it's 2 half day tours.

Both places are amazing and worth seeing. Once you have been to Montserrat you are dropped back in the centre of Madrid and then you make your way to Sagrada. There is a 2 and a half hour break between tours. The guides at both places were good. At Montserrat there was ample time to do our own thing and there are many ways to spend the time. Go as early as possible, it is lovely to be there without the big crowds which will come later.

6:45 am was the perfect time to visit Monserret..skip the crowds and l

The tour guide was exceptional. We arrived before the crowds and did not feel rushed to see the Black Madonna. The only down side was we didn't have enough time in the museum where there were paintings by Dali, Picasso, and others.. We could have used an additional hr to make this tour even more perfect. The driver also was very good..making sure we were safe going around all the switch backs.

Easy & comfortable way to see Montserrat

The bus was comfortable. We arrived at Montserrat very early just even before crowd arrives which means we don’t have to queue for a long time and can take better pictures without too many people around. The guide was knowledgable & friendly. The tour was half day though so we did not get enough time to explore the whole place. Nonetheless, it’s highly recommended.

Montserrat Monastery: Guided Tour with Early Access Reviewed by Anonymous, 28/09/2018

It was a remarkable tour, magnificent place!

I realised that a tour with a small group of tourists is actually much better as the service was not hurried, more personal with better camaraderie with the tour guide as well. I have been taking tours that were big busloads and somehow, this comes out much better by leaps and bounds.
