Ernie, our guide, was simply fantastic. Great energy for our group of 6 U.S. tourists. During our walking tour he fed us a diet of art, history, revolution, moles, huaraches... and crickets! Our entire group (strangers when we met), bonded pretty quickly with Ernie walking us through some fantastic parts of Mexico City (the witchcraft and flower markets were particularly intriguing). He was an exceptional host: answering our barrage of questions with equal enthusiasm, and doling out great tidbits about the neighborhoods we were in, the food we were inhaling, and the art we were soaking up. He's the kind of guy I would have hired at my old business. He is truly just "there" for his groups. The crickets were delicious, btw.
Ursula and our driver were great. She provided a lot of interesting information and also answered many questions - some related to the activity and other more general questions about the city, culture, etc. This was a comfortable way to see a lot of different things in one day without having to coordinate logistics, reserve tickets, or worry about navigating or driving. There was plenty of time at each location, however. We never felt rushed, nor did we ever get bored! I would highly recommend this tour to people interested in seeing these different parts of the city.
This is an excellent tour and Ro was an awesome host. He loves Mexico city and inspires us to love it even more. Lots of funny anecdotes, bits of culture, history and notes to remember. He is happy to answer questions, chat about different aspects of Mexico and life here and shares, honestly, what you want to know. He took us to a pulque bar as we had not had any up to that point and ensured we all had plenty to chat and laugh about. I would highly recommend this tour and was disappointed to have it end! Go, and go with Ro, you wont regret it!
Our guide, Julio, was very thorough in explaining the significance of things we would never have looked at twice if we were on our own. Julio showed enthusiasm and excitement when telling us about the history of the sites. We could tell he really enjoys what he does and it is appreciated. We learned so much and did not regret taking the tour. Definitely a great value, if you truly want to appreciate your travels. I would recommend eating a big breakfast or bringing snacks as lunch can be delayed.
The programme was great, though there are 1-2 things could be changed. (Guide left the feeling he exaggerates things as he does not know much of historical details, and at a point he lost half of the team - we were altogether 10. But he was funny & kind.) Also keep in mind before booking, that Xochimilco is a nice place, but nowadays it is only about tourists. It was great, that the company booked appontment for us in the Frida Kahlo Museum, so we had to wait almost no time.
