Full description
Be amazed by the traditions, the architecture, the landscapes, the art, and of course, the food! Puebla is also known as the City of Angels and despite its closeness to Mexico City, you'll notice it's very different, from the architecture, the weather, and even the food.

On your way to Puebla, you will make a stop in Cholula to visit the world’s largest pyramid. The Great Pyramid of Cholula, also known as Tlachihualtepetl (Nahuatl for "made-by-hand mountain"), is the largest archaeological site of a pyramid (temple) in the New World, as well as the largest pyramid known to exist in the world today. The pyramid is a temple that traditionally has been viewed as having been dedicated to the god Quetzalcóatl. You will be able to get into the tunnels and discover the pyramid, covered up under the ground by the Spaniards who placed a chapel at the top of the pyramid. Today the pyramid at first looks like a natural hill surmounted by the church called Nuestra Señora de Los Remedios.

After Cholula, you'll visit the colonial city of Puebla, which fascinates visitors from all around the world for its beauty, historic cathedrals, colonial squares, and gorgeous classic and neoclassic architecture can be found all over the center. Puebla is one of the first Colonial Towns of Mexico, famous for the Mole sauce, a traditional recipe made from fruit, chili pepper, nut, and such spices as black pepper, cinnamon, cumin, and chocolate. You can't leave Puebla without tasting it.

Puebla is also home for the Talavera (ceramic pottery) and you'll find it everywhere, both in architecture and on handicrafts and decoration. On your way through the city, you will admire the buildings decorated with Talavera murals, unique to this city. You will make a visit to some of the city's highlights such as the Puebla Cathedral, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary and the Parian Market, where you will be able to find some local handicrafts. This tour takes you to a tile and fine pottery factory to see how they are made and finally, you'll have the chance to admire the unique artistry of Puebla at the 'Neighborhood of the Artists'. This is a full day experience great for culture lovers!
