What people are saying about Melk
Thank you to our guide, Thomas, who was an expert and true professional, friendly, charming, and funny. It could not have been better organized or executed, and we lucked out to have literally the perfect weather. What an amazing way to see the rich Austrian culture and history of the Wachau Valley area. There was a good deal of wine included for the price, along with other free tastings at a local city along the way. I highly recommend it - well worth every penny.
Hugo was a very knowledgeable guide and was able to share his knowledge of wine and the region. Loved getting to know the other members of the small group.
Great panoramic views; information delivered in two languages (German & English); delicious food and friendly service on board.
My wife and I have never had such an excellent guide on the many excursions we’ve taken as Jan (and I hope I’m spelling his name properly). His knowledge of Vienna, the Wachau Valley, Austria and Europe in general was fantastic. The Melk Abbey was very impressive and we enjoyed our tour, but I have to say we had the most fun at the wineries we visited, the first which Jan hosted and the second, larger winery which was, in its own way, equally impressive. Jan went beyond the call of duty and helped me search for my lost gloves. Five stars all the way.
The tour was a long Journey 700km round trip. Our tour guide Peter was Helpfull and patient. He brings us to the 3 spots and give us the flexibility to mix and arrange which are the most suitable for us (As this is a private tour). He also asked his friend about Vegetarian resto for us at Salzburg. However if I can add something about Peter, He can be more pro-active in communicating about the itinerary and explain the tourists about all the history in every spots. It gives us more knowledge about places we go. Nevertheless, Hallstaat such a beautiful Place but far out of the city and Salzburg is a small city with it's charm and Mozart heritage.
