Full description
Depart the Melbourne CBD (Central Business District) early in the morning, and travel inland to arrive at the "Shipwreck Coast" before the rest of the tour buses arrive.

See the beautiful limestone rocks of the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and Gibson Steps without the crowds. Hear the story of Loch Ard as you step down into a gorge carved by the Southern Ocean over hundreds of years. Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of these breathtaking spots.

Then, drive back along the Great Ocean Road, waving at the other tour buses as they pass in the opposite direction. Stretch your legs in the Otway Ranges on a guided rainforest walk amongst some of the tallest tree species in the world. Drive back to the coastal road and visit the seaside town of Apollo Bay.

Continue along the coast, traveling a twisting route with spectacular ocean, beach and cliff views. Stop in Kennett River to look for koalas in their natural habitat amongst the eucalyptus trees. Pass through small seaside towns as you continue your journey and stop at Memorial Arch, where a sign honors the workers that built the road.

Return to Melbourne for the end of your perfect Great Ocean Road experience.

Overall the general day was good but the main feature, 12 Apostles, was very disappointing because of cloud/mist cover. The principle of getting there early to avoid the crowds is great if you get to see the main attraction. I thought given the weather the trip could have been slightly re-arranged to ensure main feature was viewable. The other events on the day, Koalas was good but you seem to cram a great deal into the day not always getting enough time at the main features.

Well organized tour departing from Melbourne. Our guide, Simon, extremely available and very patient. In the morning we make a first stop for a coffee / tea offered by them and then we leave for the discovery of the Great Ocean Road with various stages. The only drawback: maybe 40 minutes of stopover are little if you want to take more photos, however considering the amount of things they do visit, actually the times are right. Even the lunch, which includes a sandwich, is very well organized with various options also for vegetarians. All perfect! I highly recommend it!

Quite good but too rushed at stops,

We left later than the time advertised which meant we had less time to view things and so missed out on some of the attractions. A lot of time sat in the bus which was a bit uncomfortable at times. I got to view just over half of the things when we stopped but being a slow walker I missed out on a few things. I think it would have been nicer to stop for lunch all together with coffee etc available. Ran out of chicken rolls and I had to have cheese. Not very well organized.
