Full description
Ballarat is a city steeped in history and was built from the rough hands of the gold miners during the Victorian Gold Rush of the 1800's. Travel to Ballarat from Melbourne to pay a full-day visit to Sovereign Hill, a perfectly re-created 1850s gold mining settlement.

Travel first to the exciting Ballarat Wildlife Park, one of the best wildlife parks to experience close up Australian animals in their natural surroundings. There is also the chance to meet with famous Patrick the Wombat, the world's oldest wombat. There is plenty of opportunities to see animals being fed or try feeding them yourself!
Tour 382V also includes a once in a lifetime VIP encounter with one of the animals, get your photo with one of the animals and get to go instead their enclosure for feeding.

Explore the shops and wander the main street to visit goldsmiths and craftsmen at work. Journey through the town and see the Victorian architecture of a prosperous era. Cross the original route of the early horse drawn stage coaches. Try your luck panning for gold, visit the museum or ride a stage coach. Tour an underground gold mine or catch a ride in a traditional horse drawn carriage.

Discover the turbulent story behind one of Australia's most notorious incidents at the Eureka Stockade Center in Ballarat. View Ballarat's historic sites and beautiful Victorian architecture, a thriving monument to the towns golden era of prosperity. Enjoy browsing the unique period style stores along with real life characters and story re-enactments.

Across the road from Sovereign Hill is the Gold Museum, where you can view its extensive collection of gold nuggets, ornaments and coins.
