Get picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 9 AM and reach the village of Imlil after a short 1-hour drive. Meet your local guide and his team who will walk you to the local family that will host you for your morning cooking class chez l’habitant. At the end of the day, you will know how to prepare an authentic Berber tajine with meat and fresh vegetables. After preparing the tajine, there will be a short break for other activities while the food is cooking in the stove. Choose from two options: Option 1 Enjoy the tranquillity of the place and immerse yourself into the Berber tea culture with your local family. Learn to prepare the typical Moroccan tea with plenty of fresh mountain herbs that you will personally pick from the garden. Option 2 Stretch your legs during a 1.5-hour trek along the Imlil valley to discover the Berber villages and enjoy the stunning panorama of the surrounding Atlas Mountains. After lunch, your driver will take you along the scenic route crossing the Kik Plateau, a rocky limestone outcropping with inspiring views of the region, ending at the Lalla Takerkoust, an artificial lake before heading back to your accommodation in Marrakech at around 5 PM.

What a great trip into the Atlas it was. This tour is highly recommended. The drive to the Berber village of Imilil alone is very nice to see a little more of the Morocco landscape outside the city of Marrakech. In Imilil we were warmly welcomed by our guide Sabir. With him we went to a Berber house, where we, together with him and the lady of the house, then prepared a tagine. We all (6 people) had a lot of fun. While the tagine was cooking in the oven, after a tea break we went about 1 1/2 a hike with Sabir in the area, with wonderful views of the surrounding villages and the partly snow-covered Atlas Mountains. After lunch together, which was really excellent, we went back. The return trip was on a different route, which was great, because you could see the many faces of the Atlas in shapes and colors very nicely. It was an absolutely successful day for us. Thank you Sabir!

1h30 drive from Marrakech to reach Imlil, at the foot of the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas. Welcome by our very cool guide Sabir with mint tea. Direction a house in the village to prepare the tagine in the kitchen. While cooking, a 1h30 walk to visit the village and its waterfalls then return to taste your tagine. Excellent experience as close as possible to a Berber village. Authentic Moroccan flavor. All distilled by excellent guides from the village. Unique experience. Thank you to Sabir for his welcome, and also to the cook who welcomed us. Spend the quad and camel rides, and come and touch the heart of Morocco.

Great experience! Driver and guide were very knowledgeable, great way to learn about the Berber way of living and people. The good was incredible! Plus they make sure you’re well fed the entire time. No need to eat breakfast before. I didn’t take the right shoes, it’s a beautiful and simple hike but I wish I brought athletic shoes! Many people also didn’t have them, so make sure you keep that in mind. I would 110% recommend. Real bang for your buck! Incredible
