What people are saying about Manaus
Good introductory view of life in the amazon
Guides and staff very helpful with enough English proficiency. The resort and food were better than what I expected. However, I would make a couple of suggestions: 1) another group had a different itinerary that was not made available to us initially. However, they were able to accommodate. I would suggest contacting the company directly (I booked through amazing tours) and discuss all the options you can partake in. 2) the required items could be updated to include exactly what to bring and to expect because I don't think it is currently clear. I did my trip with a minimalistic approach but I would call to confirm what you need to bring with your guide based on your comfort level.
I am extremely lucky that I chose this particular trip.
Everything was well planned and the guests were given choices, they were not just told what to do. The guide Fabio was fantastic, he really knew his stuff, plus he knew amazing English ( as I am an English teacher, I should know). And his knowledge of the forest should please even my mother, a biology professor. Everyone should try out what's it like to live with no electricity for a while. After all, half of humankind do it all the time. What bliss to sleep to the sound of Amazon's waves and cicadas. Swimming with dolphins was also unforgettable!
Good experience, although a bit touristic
It was a good experience, although a bit a circus, mainly because the group was huge, like 50+ persons. We tried other and more expensive tours with only us participating and which was a much better experience but also much more demanding due to jungle walks etc.
A memorable Amazon trip which was within budget.
The accomodation was basic but adequate enough for us. It was actually a little better than we had expected. The meals provided were great. Really enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend.
