What people are saying about Main Market Square
I booked this walking tour at the last minute - 2 hours before the tour. I got an instant e-mail confirmation, including a map of the meeting place (which was right by the market square in the Old Town). The tour itself was excellent. It turned out that I was the only customer! So, it became a private tour. The guide, Konrad, was very knowledgeable and friendly. I learned quite a bit of the history of the Jewish neighborhood, the residents' forceful relocation to the ghetto across the river, and the contemporary challenges of reclaiming the neighborhood. I was originally planning to walk around on my own, but I'm very glad that I chose to do the tour. Definitely worth it.
I got very good picture on Krakow by sitting in the electric car and listening the audio commentary even though it was raining all the time. The guide Sergei was good and told us the becoming object beforehand. Very good organized the access to the Schindler Enamel Factory Museum and after visiting it the route continued to the start point. It was not easy to find the start point, but I did it one day earlier. The sign of Ul. Sw. Idziego is easy to find and just go up the street (about 150 m) until it turns to the left and the starting point is there where the name changes to Podzamcze.
Try not to get the seats that are turned backwards. Often the sight is ahead of the car and once you can see it you have little time to take photos if you want to. Our driver was very nice and knowing and drove very carefully. We especially appreciated the part in the Jewish ghetto and Kazimierz. One hour at the Schindler museum is not very much though which our guide was aware of. You could easily spend 3 hours or more there.
Generally enjoyed this. I was disappointed that our driver dropped us off 45 mins early so we had only 2.25 hrs instead of 3 hrs. I believe it was because 2 people wanted to stay at the Schindler Favtory and he had to go back to bet them. The other 5 of us did not want to go in. As a result, our time was cut short.
Our guide was top class. Arrived early, professional friendly articulate very warm and friendly and knowledgable. And enthusiastic about what he was telling us. It was the first day of our first visit to krakow and it was a great way to get a feel for the city and plan the rest of our trip.
