I have been to several places in Europe, and the Royal palace is by far one of the most incredible places I have been. Definitely worth it to see, and I would highly recommend the guided tour to get more information and to skip the line (especially if you want to go in the afternoon).

We assembled at the statue of Isabelle II and walked to the palace of Madrid (about two blocks). After a few minutes in line we went through security and into the palace. This is a best kept secret. While only fifteen or so of the 1500 rooms are on display, they are fabulous beyond description. The tour took only 90 min as promised.
