Full description
Explore the historic center (Centro) of Madrid by Segway on a 2-hour guided tour, and see monuments from the city’s Hapsburg past, including royal palaces and public squares.

Meet your guide by the monument to Cervantes in Plaza de España. Then, following a short training session on how to operate the self-balancing vehicles, glide gently down narrow streets and wide boulevards to sights such as the Palacio Real (Royal Palace), the vast official residence of the Spanish Royal Family.

Learn the history and culture of the city as you enter public spaces, such as Plaza Mayor. Built during the reign of Philip III (1598–1621), the huge rectangular square is surrounded by 3-story residential buildings with 237 balconies facing the plaza.

Experience everyday life in the city at the Mercado de San Miguel food market. Constructed in 1916, the market is the finest example of cast-iron architecture in Madrid. See some of the local and regional produce on display at the market’s 33 stalls. Learn more about the history of Spain along the way, and get tips on what to do during your stay in Madrid.

The Segway’s were fun.

The tour was fun - we had 2 hours - I don’t think that the 1 hour or 1.25 hours would have been long enough to get to grips with the Segway and pick up the city info. The initial directions were very poor due to the construction at the Plaza Espagna and necessitated a call to head office in Barcelona. However our guide (Miguel) was lovely and patient and had us up and running in no time. The poor initial instructions marred the tour initially but Miguel soon overcame our initial frustration.

Booked the tour in German. As there was unfortunately no German guide available at that time, I was contacted by GYG and transferred to an English tour. Guided tour was great Francisco did a great job explaining the Segways and bringing us closer to the sights. Extremely fun tour just recommended!
