Full description
Your day will begin as you depart from a location near London Bridge tube station at 9:00AM (make sure you have a hearty breakfast before you depart, as you will be tasting a fair quantity of wine on the day). The coach or van will travel out of London whereby your English wine-tour guide will begin to tell you about the day. You will learn of the history of English wine, and all about who the industry movers and shakers are. The journey will go through some very scenic landscapes and quintessential English villages, so have your camera ready.

Upon arriving to the first vineyard you will have time to stretch your legs and enjoy a full vineyard and winery tour where you will learn about the traditional method of making sparkling wine. The winery tour will teach you about making the first base wine, then the double fermentation process in the bottle, riddling, disgorgement and dosage, and finally storage in the bond.

After the winery tour you will then have a guided tasting of 5 wines at the first vineyard, as well as time to enjoy the wine with friends. You will then have the chance to make purchases in the wine shop, or step up to the wine bar to sample any other wines or other alcoholic products not included in your guided tasting. The first vineyard also makes beer, cider, gin, and bourbon, with grapes grown on the estate.

At 1:00PM the tour will continue to a gastro-English pub for a 2-course lunch including English wine. Meals are all English fayre and will have at least one vegetarian option. All meals are seasonal and always changing, but are freshly prepared and typically consist of traditional English plates such as fish and chips, bangers and mash, a British burger, or steak and ale pie. Puddings are usually things such as apple crumble or sticky toffee puddings or refreshing sorbets.

After lunch the tour will arrive at the second vineyard of the day where you will learn about the history of the wine estate. You will join the group for a guided wine tasting of 5 wines, having time to enjoy the atmosphere with friends. Time will also be allocated to explore the wine shop and make purchases. Lastly, the tour will depart around 4:30PM and return to London Bridge for an estimated arrival time of 6:45PM. You will be returned to the same collection point where you were picked up.
