Full description
Known as the garden of England, Kent is also the “beer garden” of England with some of the finest ales and wines can be found. Visit Leeds Castle, a beautiful medieval castle frequently referred to as the loveliest castle in the world. With 500 acres of landscaped parkland to explore and impeccably maintained gardens to enjoy, it’s easy to see why this beautiful castle was a favored castle of King Henry VIII, who gifted it to his first wife, Catherine of Aragon.
Canterbury has been a European pilgrimage site of major importance for over 800 years since the assassination of Archbishop Thomas Becket in 1170. Today it is one of the most beautiful and historic cities in England. UNESCO has granted world heritage status to part of the city, including St. Martin’s Church, St. Augustine’s Abbey and the world-famous Canterbury Cathedral. Experience a scenic drive through Greenwich as an expert guide recounts the history of the area and its many iconic buildings such as the Royal Observatory, National Maritime Museum and the Cutty Sark, a living memorial to Britain’s imperial past.
